Jean Sherman Chatzky's profile Ms. Chatzky's column on consumer issues and personal financial planning appears each month in Money, the largest financial publication in the United States. Another column, "Personal Finance," appears biweekly in USA Weekend. Ms. Chatzky also serves as financial contributor to NBC-TV's Today Show. In 1997 she authored The Rich and Famous Money Book.

Prior to joining Money in 1998, where she is editor-at-large, Ms. Chatzky was senior editor at SmartMoney, where she began in 1992 as a key member of its start-up staff. She launched her writing career in 1986 as an editorial assistant at Working Woman and rose to the position of assistant editor. Form there, she joined the New York-based start-up staff of the U.S. edition of Britain's Business Traveler International, where she was an associate editor. In 1989, she joined Dean Witter as an associate editor and returned to journalism two years later, joining Forbes as a reporter-researcher.

Ms. Chatzky holds a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania. She and her husband, Peter Chatzky, chief executive at Napa Group, have two children and live in Westchester, New York.
