President of Pine Creek Partners. Previously, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Thayer Capital and the founding partner of Thayer’s two corporate buyout funds totaling over $1.2 billion. In his fifteen year career in the management buyout world, he has lead more than 50 buyouts, including The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, SAGA Software, ePlus, Iconixx, Immedient, and IESI. As a director and former Chairman of the Board of several publicly-traded high technology companies, Rick works closely with corporate managers to help them select their strategy, realize their goals, and maximize their equity returns. He is a contributing writer to the Washington Business Journal and Techway magazine. He received his MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School and his Bachelor of Science with distinction in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
