Brief description of Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity

In today's world, yesterday's methods just don't work. In Getting Things Done, veteran coach and management consultant David Allen shares the breakthrough methods for stress-free performance that he has introduced to tens of thousands of people across the country. In Getting Things Done Allen shows how to: € Apply the "do it, delegate it, defer it, drop it" rule to get your in-box to empty € Reassess goals and stay focused in changing situations € Plan projects as well as get them unstuck € Overcome feelings of confusion, anxiety, and being overwhelmed € Feel fine about what you're not doing From core principles to proven tricks, Getting Things Done can transform the way you work, showing you how to pick up the pace without wearing yourself down.

Comments by amazon customers about Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity

System that works !!!!
The GTD system that David Allen provides has worked for me. It took me more than 3 months to complete this book because I was following along all the steps that David Allen laid out in his GTD system It has been more than 6 months since I have completed this book and the GTD system that I have put in place has so far worked for me. Though I have not been very regular with the weekly reviews, whenever I got back on track I was able to get things done. I highly recommend this book as it is life-transforming if you follow the steps so clearly outlined here.

Help to make the best of your business time
This book offers step by step advice to be efficient at work. It also discusses the mental blockades and why we do the stuff in an inefficient way. I highly recommend it, if you sincerely want to empty your inbox and your mental todo list.

Been a Follower for 20 Years -- This Book Brings It All Together
I've been a follower and advocate of David Allen and his philosophies and strategies for nearly 20 years. When he came out with Getting Things Done, he tied all of his strategies together in a way that allows anyone struggling with productivity, efficiency, organization, time management, and life balance in a way few others have dared/succeeded. What differentiates David and GTD from others is that his work is truly substantial -- it isn't the "rah rah" that you so often get when looking through publications on time and life management -- it actually gets down into the nuts & bolts of systems and techniques that truly work! A serious student of time & life management would do very well starting here, diving deeply into this work/information, and then using this as the base for further exploration. David's work actually spawned my career as a time & technology management speaker, trainer, and instructor, and opened up my new passion in effective e-mail management (following David's principles) that led me to writing my own book (and getting a publishing deal) on Taming the E-mail Beast. His work is also the base for many other experts in the field, and this is not a mistake. If you are looking for a way to fundamentally change your relationship with your time, efficiency, productivity, effectiveness, and your task list, you need to get this book! Taming The Email Beast

Great book...helpful and intuitive
A fantastic book that really breaks down how to get things done efficiently. No more am I going to do the old "To Do" lists. Read this if you want to maximize your time at home and at work....no matter what you do for a living!

very effective
Great methods and suggestions, probably one of the most useful tools I've ever encountered for personal productivity and peace of mind
