A short fable about how people deal with change - which we instinctively try to avoid or minimize - but it happens and is inevitable. The cheese is a metaphor for anything you want or need in life, is your goal. Mice want cheese; for humans it may be happiness, success or money. The cheese is in a maze, which is a metaphor for life, the place where people spend their time searching for what they want. When the cheese disappears from the maze, each character reacts in a different way.
