Rich Dad, Poor Dad chronicles the story of the authors two dads, his own father, who wa the superintendent of education in Hawaii and who ended up dying penniless and his best friends father who dropped out of school at age 13 and went on to become one of the wealthiest men in Hawaii. Kiyosaki uses the story of these two men and their varying financial strategies to illustrate the need for a new financial paradigm in order to achieve financial success in the new millennium.
A great "Motivational" book This book will really hit the nail on the head about how the poor and middle class spend their money. You will certainly chuckle whenever you meet someone of that status after reading this because their lifestyle is very similar to what's written on the book. There are however some things about it that made me decide to give it 3 instead of 5 stars. Actually if I can... I actually want to give it 3 1/2 stars and these are the reasons why.
1. The book can get really repetitious that it's possible to just write down what Robert wants to get across in just a piece of paper. What made it into a book was because of those stories his telling that I can't say if 100% of them are all true.
2. It is more of a motivational rather than an educational book. There were certainly a lot of times when he could have expound more on an interesting subject but instead he decide to tell it by... again using stories or his own experience that you almost want to ask the book "BUT HOW/WHY IS IT POSSIBLE?".
I love the book and it certainly has change me on how to spend my money but as someone who has also read Cashflow Quadrant I recommend that you buy other books that can give more information about a particular subject rather than solely relying on the Rich Dad series.
I didn't receive the book until now I feel disappointed. I didn't receive the book right now. And I don't have time to complain. Not what I expected This book is about 2" x 2" square and about 20 pages long. I saw nothing that said the book was like that, had I known I would not have purchased it. change your life!!! This book makes sense. He is not selling you a service. He is telling you how to become rich, if you follow through to what he says!! Abridged version is small enough for rats, not humans I LOVE Rich Dad, Poor Dad, but this particular version of the book is a mistake. The book is about 2 inches by 2 inches. You could tie a ribbon on it and call it a Christmas tree ornament. It's too small to really read the book comfortably. So, unless you're a literal rat, trying to get out of the race--go get a REAL unabridged LARGE version of the book.
