Comments by amazon customers about The Goal: A Process of Ongoing Improvement

The Goal for all
I'm a first year MBA student with 8 years of professional experience and a PhD in science. The Goal (book) was part of our required reading for our "Operations, Information Systems and Data Analysis" class. Because of my hectic schedule, sitting down and reading The Goal required more time than I was willing to give. So just listening in the car on the way to work, or sitting at home laying on the couch decompressing seemed like an optimal option. They have done a great job in the narration, which helps "getting into" the story. The audio CD's are high quality though there are lots of them, 11 to be exact. As far as content goes, The Goal is an excellent description of what is known as the Theory of Constraints (TOC). It helps evaluate your current process (not just in a production environment) and understand where you can improve. The interviews at the end are excellent for extending the use of The Goal to many other fields. I highly recommend it.

Goal is a wonderful book
I read Goal many years ago and later bought it for my daughter who was doing her MBA as her personal copy. My take from the book is: The goal of business is to make (more) money, which is done by the following: 1. Increase Throughput as throughput is the rate at which the system makes money. 2. Reduce Inventory 3. Reduce Operating Expense I have used this book and read it several times as its novel like fluency keeps me spellbound.

Easy to deal with
I purchased this book, and the order never made it to me. When I emailed the seller, they were extremely friendly and helpful. They offered to refund my money, and it wasn't a hassle at all. Really easy people to deal with.

Good for SCM
I bought this book for school and it was very educational (for all of those Supply Chain people out there). I wouldn't have read it if it weren't for school though. I recommend the seller because it arrived in good condition rather quickly.

Probably time to read it again
Who new that reading about manufacturing could be interesting. This is a great book. My dad enjoyed it too.
