The host of the hit reality show The Apprentice presents an invaluable collection of grounded, hard-hitting advice on business success, from people who have made it to the boss’s chair at some of America’s most thriving companies. How can you find the way to the top? Ask people who are already there.Because you can’t know it all. No matter how smart you are, no matter how comprehensive your education, no matter how wide-ranging your business experience, there’s simply no way to acquire all the wisdom you need to make your business flourish. You need to learn from those who have blazed a trail before you. Donald Trump has asked many of the brightest, most successful businesspeople he knows—and some he doesn't know—to answer this question: What's the best business advice you ever received? The result is a compelling resource of wisdom and wit that reveals how some of the most accomplished people conduct their personal and business affairs, giving an inside look into the secrets of corporate success. But the advice doesn’t only come from the upper echelons of the Fortune 500. Thoughts poured in from executives at thriving companies large and small, ranging from well-known icons such as Staples, American Airlines, Lillian Vernon, and Boeing to family-run operations like Orleans Homebuilders and Carlson Companies. The Way to the Top brings together the core ideas that have guided more than 150 of today’s top businesspeople, offering a range of inspiring and practical advice on making good decisions, conducting yourself appropriately, developing your career, communicating with others, leading a team effectively, and much more. Some of the entries are simple entreaties, some portray intriguing vignettes, and others outline lists of guiding principles; all are illuminating, instructive, and insightful.A telling to-do list for the aspiring professional, The Way to the Top belongs on every business bookshelf.

Find myself raving about this book years later I found this book informative and entertaining. I still rave about the book years after I originally bought it. I love the way Trump opens up about his past experiences and then welcomes collegues to do the same. The stories included in here are relevant and interesting and you can learn much from the paths that many of these business people have walked.
Collective wisdom This book contains collective wisdom from more than 100 successful businesspeople who Trump asked about the best business advice they received. If you've read other business books, you will find that you've seen many tips before because a lot of it is common sense. But this book reminds us that to be successful is simple. There is no magic involved. But simple does not mean easy because execution is the hardest part. We've all been told to save, but few of us actually do it.
Trump realizes that he cannot possibly know it all, and he relies on other people's experience, knowledge, and expertise. This book can help you with that. You will not agree with everyone featured in the book, but you may pick what suits you best. I really liked the advice of Jim Cantalupo, McDonalds' CEO, who said to take care of customers, and the bottom line will happen on its own.

Pales by comparison Disappointing only when compared to his other books. Not really pearls from Donald Trump himself, but rather it is advice from a number of other successfull people compiled into a "coffee table" format. That aside, most of the advice was helpful, but much was repetitious. But then most achievers have the same traits, don't they? It's just that Mr. Trump has all of these (which he onlys mentions once), and then so many more.
The "so many more" are revealed in his other books like "How to get Rich" and "Think Like a Billionaire". One interesting aspect of his writing is how he matures from "The Art of the Deal" forward. He readily acknowledges his mistakes and explains how he has learned from them. What always shines through is his indefatigable spirit of not ever giving up no matter how tough the going gets.
Disappointed I read the book he co-authored with Robert Kiyosaki "Why we want you to be rich" and I liked it! So I decided to read some more of Trump, but without flicking through this book as I was catching a plane to Korea. I was disappointed as it is just a bunch of affirmations really. Sure.. good advice
from people who know how to get things done. But I was hoping to get more insights into investing.
Some good advice The key word is "some". Most of the advice is commonsense or if you don't have any, I take it back. This book is just a compilation of advice from successful business contacts of Trump. Trump doesn't really offer any advice except a few lines in the introduction.
