Personality tune-up Sort of a charm school guide. Familiar but necessary techniques that one needs to impress with style and ease. Step-by-step tools and approaches to ensure your make a favorable impression. Focused eye contact, subtle head tilts, switching contact from one eye to the other, attentive listener, when to smile or not. How to build another's self-esteem, build trust, a rapport from the first contact. Light informative material.
Very helpful for those of us with difficult personalities - helped my marriage Many of us sole entrepreneurs are notoriously difficult to get along with, being workaholics (like I am); this book helped me significantly improve my interpersonal relationship skills. I bought it back in Sept. 2006, it's helped my marriage of 12 years a lot, I found myself becoming easier to get along with, and having a better relationship with my wife -- so that alone is well worth getting this for.
Additionally, I found Brian's "Power of Charm" book helpful in developing working relationships with others, and being less aggressive, more diplomatic and sensitive in my business dealings. So this was very well worth getting, highly recommended as are all of Brian Tracy's useful resources. Thanks - this one mainly helped my marriage, which is important to me. Great book!

A Good Book That Really Explains How To Be Charming I ran across this book in my company's library and was a little surprised to find it there. It was a quick read and I must admit that I did indeed find it quite charming.
Most of us feel that we are decent conversationalists and think that we generally leave a positive impression on the people we meet. This book helps to explain why some people are so more pleasant to be around than others. It breaks the art of being charming into its various components. Each one is easily recognized and the stories and examples strike a chord... yes, charming people are that way for a reason. The best part is that charm is something that can be cultivated (I always thought that either one had it or not -- sort of like class?) According to Mr. Tracy, all it takes is a little practice and conscious effort.
I jotted down a few of his observations concerning attentive listening, proper eye contact, when to smile, etc., and plan to use them on my friends, family and business associates. I think that his suggestions, if followed, will indeed make me a better, more charming individual, and who doesn't want that!
Lastly, I do recognize that his formulaic approach is by no means new. As others have written, these ideas repeat similar points made my Napoleon Hill, Norman V. Peale and many others. Nevertheless, I always find it refreshing to be reminded of the simple ways that we can improve our lives. They worked then, they work now.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to increase their charm factor.
Quick useful read I had to read this book for a class but I really enjoyed it. It's a very quick read and put together so that you can easily return to main points to refresh your memory. If you use the tools given to you in this book you will become a much more likable person and one that people enjoy talking to.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat Delightful, useful, quick read--worth the money. From someone as crabby and difficult as I, this is a fine and useful recommendation.
